William H. Perkins, Jr. (1921-2009) was an esteemed and well-respected lobbyist, historian, and humanitarian. During his 50-year career, he amassed one of the largest private collections of presidential and political memorabilia. He was present at the founding of the United Nations. Mr. Perkins had the honor to meet 11 United States Presidents from Franklin D. Roosevelt to Bill Clinton. Presented are items direct from his renowned collection.
Presented is a collective of autographs from Perkins’ collection. Many of the autographs are from politicians who were in government in some capacity. Notables are a Speaker of the United States House of Representatives or politicians that were in the state of Illinois. The majority of autographs are on original photos were in previous displays and are on a backing.
The highlight is a photo (10.5″ x 13.5″) of the National Armed Forces Museum Advisory Board of the Smithsonian Institution. There are seven autographs on the bottom border of the photo including Earl Warren. An unsigned 8×10 original black and white photo is also included.
